Question two; comment.
Global warming is often confused as a popular belief or custom that is associated with an occurrence, in contrast to the state of things as they actually exist. In order to fully comprehend the nature of Global Warming along with its causes and effects, radiation, Greenhouse Gases and The Greenhouse Effect must first be analyzed since these terms surround Global Warming. Global warming, also called the Greenhouse Effect, was first theorized in 1824 by a French mathematician, Jean Fourier, who proved that the Earth’s temperature was slowly increasing. Fourier argued that our atmosphere traps solar radiation and reflects it back to outer space. In the late 19th century this was labeled The Greenhouse Effect. The Greenhouse effect is a heating process of the planet due to the presence of an atmosphere containing gases that emits and absorbs infrared radiation.
Ever since the Industrial Revolution began in the late 18th century, factories, power plants and eventually cars has burn fossil fuel such as oil and coal releasing huge amount of carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, carbon monoxide, methane and other gases into the atmosphere. Deforestation, permafrost and tundra have also contributed large amounts of greenhouse gases being released into our atmosphere. These greenhouse gases trap heat near the earth through a naturally occurring process called the greenhouse effect.
Evidence of the planet’s climatic change includes physical impacts which are effects on the weather, increased temperature levels, rising sea levels and decrease in snow cover in the arctic and Antarctic. The spread of disease and economic consequence are also side effects of Global warming.
